How Fortnite bans work
Fortnite bans are set by Epic Games under its Community Rules and Terms of Service, and the ban email states the type and duration of the ban and the rule concerned. Temporary bans last up to 365 days, whereas permanent bans are indefinite; a Fortnite ban, however, does not by itself bar other games in the Epic Games Store, which only a full account ban does.
Appeals go exclusively through Epic's Sanctions and Appeals Portal and require the Sanction ID from the ban email, since Epic's Player Support cannot review or lift bans. Each eligible sanction allows one appeal, which a human moderator decides; thus, the appeal has to set out the facts completely the first time.

How to appeal a Fortnite ban

Save the ban notice
The first step is to secure the Fortnite ban message as a screenshot and as text, together with the date, the platform and any reference number or ID it shows.

Find the rule it relies on
The notice usually names a rule. That rule shall be looked up in the terms Epic Games publishes, so that the appeal answers it instead of making a general complaint. Epic Games terms of service

Collect what supports your side
Useful evidence includes purchase receipts, earlier support replies with ticket numbers and, for a device ban, when the PC or console was acquired and who else used it. A password, however, is never part of the evidence.

Send one clear appeal to Epic's Sanctions and Appeals Portal

Keep the ticket and follow up with facts
The ticket number and the reply shall be kept. If Epic Games refuses, a second request makes sense only with new facts or a clearer explanation; repeating the first request adds nothing.

Can I appeal a Fortnite ban?
Yes, once per eligible sanction, through Epic's Sanctions and Appeals Portal and with the Sanction ID from the ban email. Epic's Player Support cannot review or lift bans.
Does a Fortnite ban affect other Epic games?
Not necessarily. Epic states that a player banned from Fortnite can still play other Epic Games Store games; only a full account ban covers everything.
