How Rust bans work

Rust is developed by Facepunch Studios and uses Easy Anti-Cheat. Bans issued by Easy Anti-Cheat apply to the game account and are reviewed through Easy Anti-Cheat's own appeal form, not by the community servers.

Server bans, however, are a different matter: the admins of each community server decide them, and only they can lift them. Consequently, an appeal to Easy Anti-Cheat does not cover a ban on a single server, and vice versa.

Step by step

How to appeal a Rust ban

  1. Save the ban notice

The first step is to secure the Rust ban message as a screenshot and as text, together with the date, the platform and any reference number or ID it shows.

  2. Find the rule it relies on

The notice usually names a rule. That rule shall be looked up in the terms Facepunch Studios publishes, so that the appeal answers it instead of making a general complaint. Facepunch Studios terms of service

  3. Collect what supports your side

Useful evidence includes purchase receipts, earlier support replies with ticket numbers and, for a device ban, when the PC or console was acquired and who else used it. A password, however, is never part of the evidence.

  4. Send one clear appeal to Easy Anti-Cheat's appeal form (EAC bans) or the server's own channel (server bans)

The appeal is sent while signed in with the banned account, as a single request that sets out what happened in chronological order, why the rule does not fit and which documents are attached. Official page: easy.ac/support/contact/appeal (link checked on 26 Oct 2026)

  5. Keep the ticket and follow up with facts

The ticket number and the reply shall be kept. If Facepunch Studios refuses, a second request makes sense only with new facts or a clearer explanation; repeating the first request adds nothing.

We prepare steps 2 to 4 for you: the appeal text, the rule it answers and where to send it, checked by a person before you get it. Start your Rust appeal

Questions

Questions about Rust appeals

Can an EAC ban in Rust be appealed?

A review can be requested through Easy Anti-Cheat's appeal form. The appeal should name the software that ran beside the game; the free Ban Check shows first whether the case has a point worth making.

I was banned from one Rust server. What now?

That ban belongs to the server's admins. Use the server's own appeal channel, usually a Discord or website.
